Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. I hope your short week went well. The shorter the week it seems as if the stress increases. Either way we are here at another Friday. There are a few weather updates, movies to see, and things to do in Philadelphia that you should keep guarded. Happy weekendmake the most of it.
Severe Weather
There is some light snow coming starting on Saturday. However, it will turn over to rain as of right now. Like with anything if driving or being out in the weather makes you nervous stay home. Those who are on the roads reduce your speed. It is amazing to me how many people attitudes seem to accumulate as soon as bad weather hits. Do us all a favor and stay indoors. Although it seems as if there will only be rain be cautious still as power lines can be affected and more. This may be a great excuse to grab a small bag of ice for when the weather does turn as we are only in the beginning stages of December.

First Week Since the New Year Check-In
This is the first Friday recap of the year. In addition, I wanted to check in to see what your first few days on your goals has been going. For me, I have been hitting things out of the park. Physically I am super sore from running and the gym. Although I didn’t make the gym my goal I did make getting back to my love of running. Thankful for the group that I run with that keep me accountable. We not only ran the day before the New Year but on the actual day as well. I will be signing up for a few races this year including going back to the Broad Street Run as a non-virtual option. This means I will be back on the streets running with my fellow runners.
This means a lot of training. From cutting things out of my diet from carbs to drinks and more. Increasing my mileage per week from 3- 10 and more. It’s not an easy thing but well worth my tacos and tequila at the end. I do reward myself with the same meal after this big run endeavor and an Epsom salt bath and rest for the rest of the day.
Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop
There is no new episode this week. I am resting as I prepare for season 10. There is a lot to talk about and I am struggling to keep myself from grabbing the equipment. If you need a laugh and some truths, I suggest you listen to Club Shay Shay to hear the podcast with Kirk Franklin and Katt Williams. Both are on two opposite sides of the listening spectrum. Here are the top podcast of all time on Conversations with Toi:
- Entrepreneurship, Selfcare, and how to ask for what you want
- Get to know me
- Princess Vibes & Spring Renewal
- Mean mothers breed mean mothers
- Christmas & Holiday memories good and bad!
Book Nerds Unite-Friday Must Haves
For the holidays I always ask for the same types of things. Either its things for the business or things that I have been eyeing a few things that I simply wanted. Things like a new reading light and new bookmarks. Now to those who aren’t book enthusiast this would seem frivolous. Those who love books get it. From bookshelf trinkets, and more here are my suggestions on what to gift to a book reader or for yourself. Winter is going to bring in some weird weather for most of us. Be prepared with a good book. See the recommendations from Amazon.
