Happy Friday! I hope everyone had an amazing week! This week has been quite interesting filled with some highs and some lows. Let’s get into it!
Sleep Schedule
So I’ve been on this sleep journey of monitoring how much sleep I’m getting every night. I have been quite intentional about going to bed no later than 930pm and 10 is my max! So I also have been intentional about what I do with my time during the day. I’ve noticed better sleep quality. I’m more energetic as well as I have better reactions to stress. Speaking of stress….
Breakdown
So I had a little breakdown. I call it having a good cleansing cry. I needed to just let go of whatever I had on my mind and heart. I didn’t even realize how overwhelmed I was. I have been in therapy more intensively. A lot of what I have had on my heart was bubbling to the surface. It’s a good thing to be able to get a lot of things that weighs you down out. It doesn’t feel good but I feel so much better crying it out.
To some having that release would be stressful. For me it’s a necessary part of this journey. It’s another reason I’ve been so quiet and restrained with friends. A lot of people know I’m there for them in a pinch. I’ve needed to be selfish these last couple of weeks and will continue to do so without apologizing. Right now I have to put the mask over my face first.
Week 2 of Back to School
So last week as far as getting the kiss online and prepared has been going well. However getting them out of play mode hasn’t leveled out. So I’m guessing they will need another week. They are having to be redirected a lot more. It’s not major so I’m definitely counting my blessings! However it is noticeable. I’ve been doing more one on one conversations with each of the kids!
Social Media and Blog Life
So now that I’m needing to be more present online the work around getting things done means more planning. I’ve always been good at doing blogs ahead of time but the social media alignment is a lot of work. To set a visual for each different social media posting requires a lot of movement. So thankfully Canva has me! I love Canva Pro as it allows me to get done and with Tailwind I’m able to set ahead for Instagram stories and post as well as Pinterest! With Facebook I can set ahead as well on the page leaving only Twitter! I have times set for how I want the posts to come out! I also do this in between meetings, conferences (online), and the kids’ schedules! It’s like a drive to check off things.
Disrespected Naps
I remember being the kid giving people a hard time about naps. I get up Monday through Thursday at 445am to work out and get my twin to work. By 9:30am if I’m not careful I’m ready to crash! So I have been taking 15 min naps. I took an hour nap on Sunday after brunch and some cleaning and let me tell you-I felt like a new woman! So to all of the disrespected naps I didn’t indulge in as a kid-I’m sorry! Rest is just as important as a healthy diet or therapy! So now call me a nap queen because they are going to be in my lineup at least a few times a week for a few minutes!
This Week’s Highs
- Cut back caffeine
- Cut back wine and alcohol consumption for the week-no I’m not participating in dry January but I’m having a glass of wine tonight
- Kept with my sleep schedule
- Kept therapy appointments
This Week’s Lows
- Didn’t properly plan all social media posts causing more work during the week
- Breakdown-although it was good cleansing cry it took me over a day to gather myself
So next week we shall see what all goes down! This weekend I plan to get my nails done and do a really good home facial and relax!
Today’s episode of Conversations with Toi is out! Get the episode here! If you missed last weeks episode get it here!
This is also Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend! Check on my Facebook page for events being held virtually and socially distanced!
Networking
Are your trying to build your business? Consider using Lunch Club. If you have been hearing about Clubhouse where you network. This is more of a one on one with some of the best in the game. I’ve met some of the most amazing folks. Here are my suggestions-show up on time, be professional, and even if you think someone isn’t a right match stick with it. Their matching system has placed me with people I really needed. It will help you network in so many ways. It uses Google Meet and Zoom but it’s so good. Get it here! Unlike Clubhouse you don’t need to be invited or have an IPhone.
Cheers to Friday have an amazing week! Last weeks Friday Check-In can be found here!
