Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. Who else other than me is happy to celebrate the ending of the traditional week? I am beyond excited. This weekend will be filled with family time, and I can’t wait. So, with that, this has been a calming week but a fun one, nonetheless. What all went down and what is coming up?
Friday Travel Recap: Anniversary Trip To New York and New Jersey
Yes, we went to both and anyone from the area knows its super easy to do. We went to see MJ the Musical. What a treat! If you think you are a Michael Jackson fan this show is for you. It is pleasantly more than I had anticipated. The show covered over 20 of his songs that have been remastered to fit the showing. Fair warning as entertaining as it is-the show is also highly emotional. You can read my MJ recap and get a feel for what to expect before you go and more. In addition to seeing MJ the Musical we also saw Beyonce’s Renaissance concert for the second time. The first time we saw it was in Philadelphia. Both shows were highly exhilarating. I can’t say one was better than the other. She remixes the heck out of her songs.
Even if you have heard the song one way, she will surprise you. Our internet niece, Blue Ivy was there too, and she did what needed to be done. I am loving the costume changes too. In addition to us seeing Beyonce was celebrating the 1-year anniversary of Renaissance album. One year ago, Beyonce dropped the album and people went crazy. Now we get the visuals in life form on stage. If you are blessed enough to see it-trust me, it is an experience. Also New York is always a great place to be to sight see, people watch, and simply enjoy the rat race that is New York City.
Junior’s Cheesecake
We were looking for breakfast and ended up at Junior’s Cheesecake. However, we were about 15 minutes over breakfast time. I honestly was disappointed, but the lunch food was just okay. It wasn’t memorable outside of the cheesecake. The Sunday that we were there was National Cheesecake Day so one slice was about $5 but it had to be plain. I opted to get the strawberry cheesecake. It was worth the trip just for that. Would I go back? Yes, to have breakfast but not necessarily lunch or dinner. It could be the foodie in me, but the food seemed like the run of the mill. I hate to say that because again I am not discouraging you from trying it. I just wasn’t wowed by it.
Friday Movie: Meg2 The Trench
The new movie Meg2 The Trench is out today. It is action packed with suspenseful moments and so much more. This movie is going to do well. It follows Jason Statham as he returns to dive in uncharted waters. He and actor, Wu Jing are a dynamic dual conquering and surviving at the same time. It is a must see. If you liked the first one you will love the second. Even if you didn’t see the first one, this one is still a good watch.
We, meaning, my friends, Ashley, Elle, Kory and Tomika attended the Meg2 The Trench movie party and screening at Dorney Park. You know I was just at that amusement park a few weeks ago and I loved it. The party was full of food, drinks, and trinkets from the movie to enjoy and take home. Honestly, I loved being in the Wave Pool and sitting in the inner tubes.
Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Rest
The podcast is on its break. This means that I may pop in a little bonus episode. A little birdie told me that if it was to drop it could be as early as next week. You do what you will with that information. This week I want to highlight one of my favorite episodes and that is the first one. That episode was learning how to navigate the space, tone, and so much more. If you haven’t heard it yet, take the time to listen to it now.
Friday and Weekend Fun
I hope you are planning a great weekend. Go to a farmer’s market, back to school shopping (parents this isn’t a favorite for me either), get out, go to the park, and so much more. Although it is family time, I will be doing some content out and about. I can’t wait to share it with you. Depending on if I can make it happen and still be present, I may have it up as early as Sunday. Thank you for always supporting the blog and the content.
If you are in PA and are willing to drive to Peddler’s Village their peach fest is going on. It will be a lot of fun. I remember when I attended, I stopped at Chadds ford Winery, and they had peach winesicles which is peach popsicle inside of the wine and it was hands down delicious. Consider making your way. Plus, there was live music, pony rides, petting zoo for kids and so much more. In addition, do not forget that they offer free parking which is always a determining factor for me when I travel. Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend.
