Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. So much has happened this week. I must admit it’s been another great one. So what were the highs and lows?
Philadelphia Dramatist Center
If you didn’t get a chance to check out the blog from the Philadelphia Dramatist Center’s Guaranteed Overnight production, you should. It’s been a long time of not attending plays so this was a special treat. All of the directors, artist, and producers it took to pull the 24 hour productions together was amazing. Everyone was safe as well. All of the audience etc. we’re required to wear their mask. Thank you to the staff of the Philadelphia Dramatist Center for the invite.
Road Trip to Lancaster PA
I try to make my trips to Lancaster focused on what’s necessary. We took the kids to have one more cousin time before school. My parents arranged for all of us to see the Paw Patrol movie. It was really fun. The kids enjoyed themselves. I stayed overnight to help my mom who had eye surgery. I was able to get some work done without the kids so it really was an overall good trip!
My mom is on the road to recovery with her surgery. It was a peaceful time and I was appreciative of how well everything went. I also enjoyed stopping at Sobol Lancaster! Anything with açaí is for me. Lancaster started their back to school so they were having specials all week long.
Philadelphia Union
My family loves soccer. We have to attribute that to my son. He has been playing for the last few years and enjoys it. He’s really talented and we want to watch him explore his skills. My husband has been getting tickets to the game now for quite some time. This past weekend they attended the game and had a blast! Attending the game in a pandemic has been interesting. We keep our masks on the entire time. This game since it rained there were so missing seats that they had an entire row to themselves. If you’re looking for something that is family oriented and fun, the Philadelphia Union game should be on your list!
Beach Please?
I needed at least one beach trip this Summer and I got it. If you have been following me I go every year usually as a solo trip or with my girlfriend, Kyla. This year since the kids hadn’t been all Summer long, we took our kids with us. This was a fun trip. However I just got back from Lancaster the night before and at 6am wake up time, the stress of packing everyone was a lot. However I’m proud that it all came together. We laughed, ate well, got tanned, and overall just had a blast!
Main Line Today Restaurant Week
I’m sure all people think I do is eat. We all eat. Eating well that is an art. Main Line Today Restaurant Week is happening right now until September 5th. We have been embarking on a 3 week eating tour and it’s been downright delicious. This week’s restaurants included Rosalie, Alessandro’s, and 333 Belrose Bar and Grill.
Rosalie
A Soul Food Italian restaurant serves the most authentic of Italian food with all of the flavors. The staff was hands down amazing and welcoming. From the first smile to the last. Also the portion sizes are more than filling. The drink to try is the Peach Bellini too as it is peach month. They have a 3 course special for $24.95. Give Rosalie a try. You can also book a reservation using Open Table too! The vibes, colors, rooms to eat, are all well worth it! Check out my Reel of their offerings!
Alessandro’s Wood Fired Italian and Bar
This is an Italian style but also has the brick oven food and flare. We met Chef Alessandro Fiorello. He is amazing and really puts his heart into his dishes. I appreciated him coming over to speak to us! The space is cozy too! See my Reel of more of their offerings
333 Belrose Bar and Grill
The last stop of our food tour. It didn’t disappoint. I was expected a small offering of food but we got a full 3 course meal. I was blown away by the flavors. If you love Brussels sprouts theirs is too good. I believe we had at least 3 appetizers: Brussels sprouts, quesadillas, and calamari.
Their Salmon was absolutely delicious. I ended up taking it home and one of my kids finished it. They asked if I could take them back. The Flourless Chocolate cake was just enough goodness. I ate every bite. I’ve had Belrose 333 on my go to list and I must say the hype I heard about them lives to the experience! Thanks to Main Line Today and all of the participating restaurants and Aversa PR for this experience. Remember to tip your servers well!
The Night House Movie
This is a scary mystery that follows Beth who just lost her husband unexpectedly. She finds all kinds of secrets left behind in the house the husband built for her. I’m running a give away for free Fandango credits to see it. Send me an email with the name of the wife to win! Pro tip: it’s in this paragraph! Email [email protected] and in the subject line use night house! You can also watch my Reel!
Cinderella featuring Camila Cabelo
This is out on Amazon Prime Video starting September 3rd. I have screening passes for those who live in Philadelphia and want to see it this upcoming Tuesday at PFS Bourse at 7pm. CDC guidelines are strictly enforced. Masks must be worn and the theatre will be at 50% capacity. To get a ticket go here and use code, CinderellaToi and get two tickets per link. This is again for those who want to see it in the theater.
Conversations with Toi
It’s Friday and that means a new episode of Conversations with Toi is out! We have Gladys Simen a Life Coach for moms! She is a mom who has had her fair share of ups and downs balancing mom life and work. She is here to encourage other moms that it’s possible to find balance.
