Happy Friday. I hope everyone’s week was great. For me, it has been so tiring. I have been everywhere this week. Some of the content hasn’t come out yet and will stating tomorrow. It’s still Family Fun Month. It’s important to increase family time every chance you can. So what went down? Let’s get into it.
Playa Bowls Montgomeryville
By now you read the blog. I went to Playa Bowls and I love a good bowl. They treated me so well at the new location. Last week, they were giving out free bowls and tshirts. I hope everyone who got one enjoyed it. They have a great assortment of smoothie bowls, oatmeal bowls, and more including coffees. So make sure you go to your nearest Playa Bowls location. My first experience was about 10 years or so ago when I moved to Philly. I took a solo trip to the beach and I loved them.
Hersheypark
We have been out on an adventure this Summer. We mixed the Summer with Baecation, Family vacation, seeing family, and going out to some local spots too. It was important to have diverse things for the kids to do since they were in Mom Camp. For me that simply meant I worked from home as usual but moved my schedule around to take them out 3-4 days a week. I loved it. I let them choose a lot of the activities so they felt like it was their summer. Hersheypark was a lot of fun. It was super hot. Like sweat in places that didn’t make any sense. Nonetheless we had a ball. We saw some of our extended friends and family too. It was nice and one great way to end the Summer in a way before school starts.
The Grown Ups
I loved seeing the play, The Grown Ups. It’s a story of Camp Counselors that are shaping the generation of kids when they have to protect them. It took me to my camping days with the Girl Scouts. I was scared to be away from home but back then there weren’t things like cell phones and social media. So the Counselors were only teaching me camping and learning to be around others. Now, counselors have to censor information since information is so fast. The last day for the show is tomorrow. So make sure you get your tickets.
City Winery Pop Fizz Brunch
My husband and I did a date day at City Winery. I loved the brunch experience. The Pop Fizz Brunch includes a bottle of sparkling wine, with an assortment of juices. The food was absolutely delicious. In addition to the good food and mimosas, the atmosphere was so welcoming. The staff is diverse. I really loved it. If you live in Philadelphia, you must go at least once. In addition there are many locations all around so check it out.
Media Events Friday Recap
I took many things this week. I will be posting the content of those places this week. Just know that I am burned and loving it. I was in all of the sun-protected but out. I finally had the opportunity to go to Frame. I loved the food. The food was fresh and delicious. The drinks took a while but that is to be expected at media events when everyone in the room are Influencers, Media, or Bloggers. Once we did get our drinks they were absolutely perfected. The only thing that I could find that was an issue was the volume of the music. We were all talking and then it got to the point where we had to literally scream.
So I thought it was just the volume for that night but others said it happens all the time. I hope they fix it because that can’t be a great date night spot if you can’t hear someone talking to you from across the table. However outside of that, food, drinks, and decor are on point. Shout out to Swagfoodphilly for the invitation.
Friday To Do
When I tell you I am unavailable to go anywhere today I truly mean it. I do not want to go anywhere today that requires me to use a phone to take a picture. Today’s goals will be doing my daughters hair and resting. When I saw resting I truly mean it. I will be found in sweats or pajamas for the rest of the day. I do have some editing to do today but that’s about it. I plan to finish that and have a cocktail. I pray rest and restoration for you too. This weekend already has a level of events to do for the blog and family time. Plus my focus is on the kids and school for Monday.
Conversations with Toi
Today I dropped a bonus episode. I tend to do that. We will be back on September 9th. We have Dalton from Temper with us as our first guest. I am also filming some episodes as a guest podcast host. So podcasting never stops or takes a real break. However I am excited for season 7 we will hit 10k downloads super soon. Today’s podcast is about anxiety flares. The flares that happen without notice. For me it was at a media event. As soon as I walked in the room I felt it. Crazy part is usually happens if I am a new location AND don’t know anyone. I knew majority of people and still felt a flare.
So that in a nutshell was my week along with at least 3 other media events that I will be highlighting starting tomorrow morning. I hope you have an amazing Friday as well as a great restful weekend. Try to find some rest. It’s important to refuel. My cup is low so I am refueling. Happy Friday.
