Happy Friday! How was your week? I’m hoping good. Who besides me had kids who returned to school or online school? Let’s talk about it all!
Setting The Tone
I started my week by setting my schedule. This means workouts at 5am with a 445am wake up! No, that’s not a typo! The timing for me made sure I got it done! I could have switched workouts to night time but truth be told after I do all I do there’s no way to play myself-I will fall asleep at the drop of a dime. Adding my new ankle weights too was helpful! I recommend this for runners to help with having to switch to more indoor workouts! I also like the feeling of pushing myself.
Sleep Schedule
I am online all the time. That is where I work to be honest. However mindless scrolling gets us all! I have chosen to be intentional about my daytime schedule and my sleep schedule. So that means instead of falling asleep on the couch until my husband scraps me off the couch, I’m in bed at a set time. I have been getting better sleep and have so much more energy for that 445am workout. I should have done this before but we try to do it all and it’s becoming overwhelming to say the least. Think about considering a sleep schedule. I have one schedule for the week and the weekend when I should keep the schedule I allow myself to sleep in and rest! I’ll give a follow up after a month!
Dental Appointment
So I had to take my youngest to the dentist. The amount of stress to go anywhere outside of my house can’t be compared. So when I took the youngest to the dentist I was glad that only she had the appointment. What I was hoping for was a quick visit in and out but it turned out to be anything less. First, a man who appeared to be homeless came in lighting a cigarette. He didn’t have a patient at the children’s dental office. The man walked right past security who is supposed to screen individuals. He also got loud causing the mamas in the office to stand up. People coming into the office wouldn’t keep their masks above their nose. The amount of craziness that ensued I couldn’t wait to get out of that office!
Please keep your mask above your nose
Melee
Of course this week was filled with the Capitol melee. Armed and dangerous there was unfortunately injuries and deaths. The fight was to make sure that democracy was upheld. Not one of them were hit with rubber bullets initially, tasered, shot, or worse. Police exercised the ability to reserve causing harm. Some taking selfies as well as ushering them in! However this is where we are. People are more stuck on making this a Black and White issue are missing the larger part-we are a laughing stock around the world. If we allow our own to infuriate barriers that means it would be easy for others to do the same. National security is and should be the main focus as they arrest and jail the offenders!
Friday Highs and Lows
This week had some huge lows. It also had some highs. I was able to get all of my content done, survived the first week of back to school, kept up with my sleep schedule, and by evening I’ll have another therapy session on the books. Life is hard and these events lately continue to show people who others really are. Don’t ignore it! Protect your peace! Find joy!
