Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend especially my fellow bloggers. I have some updates that I want to share on this Friday. Also, I have been slacking or so that appears but there are some reasons behind it. From my trip to Atlanta with the Food + Wellness Equity Creator Retreat. Here is what has been going on.
Atlanta for the bloggers
It has been quite some time since we have had a formal blogging retreat or meetings for just bloggers. Blogging hasn’t gone out of style. Before the days that influencing became a thing to say and do many were using the titles of bloggers to look respectful. However, like myself there are many of us that really do this. So, with that in mind here are some of the things that I gained while at the Food + Wellness Equity Creator Retreat this past week.
While in Atlanta we stayed at the beautiful Epicurean. When I say this place is my type of luxury I mean it. From the accommodations to the fanfare, I really loved it. When I come back to Atlanta this is the spot I will stay.
Bloggers and The Hard work
We learned about ways for us to work smarter and not just harder. For instance, what applications we should be using to build newsletters and more. FYI, expect a newsletter to come out at the top of November first. Instead of a weekly Friday post I will be writing a once-a-month newsletter. This is helpful to focus the content on better ways than none. In addition, especially with the holidays coming up I can focus on the blog and the content too without feeling overwhelmed.
Engaging and Collaboration
While at the Food + Wellness Equity Creator Retreat we really leaned in on one another. Sometimes that can be hard to do when you think about the fact that many of us have our hands in so many pots. This is one of the first blogging retreats of its kind where it was small and intimate and allowed for us to be in the space to be sponges of information in the best way. So, look out for all of us as we move ahead in all of endeavors right on time while in Quarter 4th where many of us thrive financially. This sets up our quarter 1 in greater ways too.
Prison Reform
One of the hardest things that we learned was about prison reform. The amount of justified slavery that is acceptable mustchange. You might be thinking what that has to do with being a blogger or content creator. It has everything to do with it. We work with many companies. Many of which may be using prison labor while those incarcerated are being treated less than human.
If you are wondering how you can look up and see the companies, you could be possibly supporting pay attention as we end the exception. We also joined forces with the ice-cream giant, Ben & Jerry’s that has been doing its part both in the food industry and beyond.
Foodies Always
The food while there was delicious. We ate at the Flying Biscuit, and I was full. From the flaky biscuit to the Georgia Peach waffles I highly recommend. In addition, if you are able stop at the Marcus Bar and Grille for some southern cuisines that will blow your mind. The vegan ribs were the best I have ever had.
The food at the conference was delicious too. Every dish was made to cater to every health initiative too. I really enjoyed it. Lastly, I had the best tacos and shrimp soup at Emilio’s Tacos + Tequila. Try all of them.
