Have you ever been to the Drybar? It is a great spot where you can come in get your hair washed and style all while not missing a beat. Different from your usual salons they do not offers color or cuts. So Dry Bar is a great way to be event ready, practice self care, and more. So what’s your know before you go and more?
Before you go to Drybar
It would make it go smoother if you knew what style you wanted before you go. Look online before you book. I also highly suggest that you book an appointment. This will cut down the wait and especially if you need or want a specific stylist. Remember there is no hair cutting or color. This is a simple come and get styled. They do not do every style. This is why looking online for the look you desire will be important. When I went I got a simple curl that worked for me and my hair pattern. I can’t speak for all Dry Bar but the one in Marlton, New Jersey has such a great diverse staff. My hair came out just the way I wanted.
Other Extras Available at the Drybar
One of the things that I could appreciate is that they have a drink menu. For alcohol it would be a mimosa or champagne. They have great non alcoholic selections too. So when you come in and get settled your experience starts from the moment you come in until you leave. You can also get dry styling. I am not personally a fan of dry styling but this would be good for those on the go who need to get in and out and are low on time. For me I have thick hair and simply doing a dry style wouldn’t work for me. Plus my entire was about an hour’s time and that says a lot since I also got my hair straightened, washed, and curled.
Scalp Massage is one of the best things to add. I had it and trust me I could have gone to sleep. It helps to stimulate your hair follicles that can help stimulate the health and growth of your hair. They also have the add a bow. These are holiday bows so not sure how long they will stay. So you can do the half up and half down look should you desire too.
My Personal Experience
I am not going to lie. I was a bit nervous. The reasonings is that my hair is special. Ever since I was a little girl I was told not to let people play in your hair. This was to mean not allowing inexperienced folks or folks who don’t know how to handle your hair in it. So when I was asked to do this trust me I wrestled with it. However once on site I felt so much better. Not only did the stylist look like me but she knew what she was doing. I want to stress that the stylist who knows hair matters. However as a woman of color it feels comfortable seeing people who look like me. It opens the doors that we too can have a great hair experience too.
Getting a blow out is something that many want to get and not feeling comfortable is sometimes the first apprehension to doing so. Due to my texture of hair I need someone who can handle my edges with grace but make sure they lay down and without a lot of product.
At the DryBar they didn’t use any holding products on my edges and I was okay with it.
Would I go back to the DryBar?
Hands down yes. The only differences that I experienced with this salon and my regular stylists is that there was no deep conditioner that I get at my every appointment, the fluidity of moving through the appointment, and no drinks offered. Those 3 things definitely made my DryBar experience wonderful. I would return to the DryBar in between my stylist for things like a refresh between the gym and more.
The staff at the DryBar was hands down amazing. I had a great time and enjoyed the services. My hair looked and smelled great. It is always nice to get someone else to do your hair. Also in case you were wondering, it doesn’t cost a lot of money to get it done. For under $60 dollars you could be blown out and on your way in an hour. Both the timing and the price is a game changer.
If you were looking for a sign to get your hair done trust me this is it. The location that I attended was the Mt. Laurel New Jersey. It is located at 52 Centerton Road, Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. Drybar Mt. Laurel is about 30 minutes from the bridge. It is easy to navigate and located inside of the Centerton Square amongst other amazing shops. You really could make it a great few hours shopping and eating in this area after your hair is done.
