Fall is here and that means with colder air and more. With that being said, if you are out and about this season you may want to be clear on what items to have on you so you can have a successful day trip. Remember that although you don’t need to have everything, you do want to be prepared.

What does your Fall day consists of?
A typical Fall Day for me consists of starting my day at a coffee shop or a bookstore that also sells coffee. It is something about being in both of these spaces that makes me smile. The way in which I love switching up my location to do work matters. So in my bag I would definitely need to have a laptop, charger cord, ear phones, notebook, and pen.

That is just to start the day. Where you are having a day trip matters. If you are going to be out of town for the day make sure to always bring a change of clothes. This is imperative especially if you will be somewhere picking pumpkins, apples, hayrides and more. Get into the habit of having layers with you too. Think hat, scarves, and gloves.
Travel Accessories for your Day Trip
Think about what you need to stay connected even when you plan to disconnect. For instance when I visited Linvilla Orchards, I took my back up chargers, extra cords, digital camera, connecting cords, and phone exchange cords to transfer photos back and forth. The other items that I take when it comes to travel for a Fall day trip are things like a great backpack that is comfortable. This is why it’s imperative to pack so that you are comfortable and can carry it all. I suggest when possible to travel via train to where you need to go as well. Nothing is more beautiful than a train ride during the Fall.

Plan to take things like hand sanitizers, change, cash, hygiene products like lotion, wipes, and more. In addition add chapstick or some other lip lubricant. Do not forget to bring sunscreen stick too. Last weekend I traveled to New Jersey closer to New York, Having many of these items were helpful.

Fall Weather Packing
With all of the Fall that’s here for quite some time, be sure to be prepared for the weather. Here in Philly you leave with a jacket, spend the afternoon with no coat only to need it again at night. So think about your day trip and plan accordingly. Also make sure you keep rain coats, umbrella, and emergency ponchos on you at all times. It also may be a good idea to have gloves and hats too.
Where to go for the Fall
If you are in the Philadelphia or surrounding areas I highly recommend a few places:
- Shady Brook Farm
- Linvilla Orchards
- Eastern State Penitentiary
- Sesame place
- Philadelphia Zoo Boo in the Zoo
- Peddler’s Village
Also if you’re into more food content, I recommend these restaurants:
- Bake’n Bacon
- Figo Italian
- Cafe Carmela
- Blondie Philly
