Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Reading should be something that you do often. Here is my Fall Book/Reading list. It should be something that becomes apart of your routine of taking time to slow down. Reading is a great form of self care. It’s about taking the time out to set time apart for yourself. Grabbing your favorite drink and indulging. On my down time, reading is my passion. So here is my Fall Reading list.

Gabrielle Union

Gabrielle Union is back with her newest book, “You Got Anything Stronger?” Its a follow up to her “We’re Going to Need More Wine.”  I have both the Signed First Edition but I also have it in Audible version. I like to get the Audible because I love to hear the author narrate it in their own voice. It adds a great layer to it. I am not done with it but I should be done with it in about a week.

Baby Kaavia

Gabrielle Union-Wade talks about all of the issues she has had since the last book up to including the birth of Kavia her daughter by surrogate. So catch up with all things Gabrielle and learn a few things. I think if you thought that she was taking it there before, grab something stronger than wine because so far she’s not holding back. Also I enjoyed her online book tour. It was refreshing, witty, and on time.

Tabitha Brown

Tabitha Brown everyone’s Auntie or Mom is here with her highly anticipated book,”Feeding the Soul.” From recipes to speaking up on her journey of where she is now from the beginning, Tabitha encourages all to find their passion. She doesn’t mince her words about rejection or plowing through.

Tabitha Brown

She does remind everyone that staying the course is essential to longevity. We all love her Southern accent. For me personally it reminds me of my Southern family. I have her book too on Audible. Hearing her narrate is like listening to a podcast or music for self care.

Michelle Williams

One part of Destiny’s Child, Michelle is a force all of her own. From being a solo artist to speaking up about her mental health, Michelle is here to encourage others that checking in is important with her new book, “Checking In.”

Depression and anxiety is felt by so many. Where many would love to act as if it doesn’t exist, Michelle is speaking boldly after her public bout with depression. I say this often and I mean it, depression is universal. It touches people from all walks of life.

Will Smith

Will Smith self titled book is available as a preorder. It will be available on November 9th. Will Smith will also kick off his book tour for his book in Philadelphia on Monday November 8, 2021. The tickets for the book tour is on sale now. This is already being acclaimed as a must have. I have it preordered as well. I if you you’re wondering, pre-ordered it on Audible too.

Harrietts Bookstore

You can’t talk about books without talking about great bookstores. Harrietts is such a welcoming place to be. I loved the mannerism of the owner, Jeannine. When she first opened, I went there and visited. I loved it. It’s welcoming and is a special place for an author. Harrietts is all about being a place for education and community involvement. If you love my shirt, Well Read Jawn you can! You can read the Harrietts Book blog too.

Books and Self Care

It’s all about taking care is yourself. Maybe you’re not an avid book reader. If having a glass of tea while you read a magazine is your thing. Maybe it’s about sitting in a quiet place without interruption. Whatever it is-you deserve it. It doesn’t matter if you have been told that you’re not doing enough to indulge in self-care. Self-care is all about daily care. Taking your time and enjoying you and the things you love. It’s about pouring into your cup.
