I know we just officially entered Winter, but we had to go to The Dandelion Pub to try their Fall High Tea. Now if you remember I attended the Summer High Tea with Phillyfoodgal, and we had a good time. The food was great, but the service could have used a little up do. Well the Dandelion called us back in to be sure they gave us their most outstanding service. I was blown away this second go around. I think it’s great that they willingly offered a redo. Some companies would have been like one outing out of a thousand wouldn’t be worth correcting but they stepped up and made it happen.
Fall Tea at Dandelion
So, you know how I do when I go into an establishment. I didn’t identify who I was initially. I knew where we would be seated so no need to play my hand. I like to once again see how people greet you when they don’t think you are reviewing them. The Dandelion didn’t disappoint at all. They greeted me well. I also watched even those who didn’t want to wait to 45 minutes that they were on since they had a lot of reservations and everyone of the two groups who left stated that the hostess was extremely nice. That is the type of things that I pay attention to when I visit any restaurant.
Sipping the Tea at Dandelion
Once seated, we ordered our tea. Now with any high tea the tea is one of the biggest focus. I loved that this time instead of us having to share a pot of tea we were given our own. We ordered the “Royal Occasion” tier of food like we did the last time. This tier is the biggest high tea tier and to be honest if you are going to go to The Dandelion for it you really should get it. It costs about $25 per person and the food is OUTSTANDING. I mean the flavors explode in your mouth. I have to say they have the BEST high tea of the ones I have tried in Philly.
Fish and Chips
Summer Reminder at Dandelion
This time around we tried their fish and chips. So, as you can see at the picture above that was a lot of food. I would say if you are going for the high tea the high tea would be plenty to eat with the tea and of course a Rose Mimosa. I feel in love with it in the Summer and we had it again this time around. The fish and chips were superb. From the crunchy and golden crust to the soft and delicious fish on the inside, I wasn’t disappointed. For me that speaks volumes since I don’t eat meat.
Carrot Soup
The carrot soup was so good. It was creamy and full of flavor. I have had I believe one other time a carrot soup and to full disclaimer I don’t even like carrots. However, there was a great hint of the carrots in the soup and I wanted more. That might be the only way outside of a carrot chip that I can eat my carrots. I have yet been able to chew on uncooked carrots and even the cooked carrots make me must reconsider my life choices. This carrot soup made me feel like I had been tricked by my mom in the past life because it was that good.
The Worthy Do-Over
Overall The Dandelion has restored my faith in them by making it right on the service. Like I said in my previous blog the food is always outstanding. You get your money’s worth when you are there. FYI even though high tea was at 3 I couldn’t eat dinner. I was that full. I would say that is a surprise but for me if I go to a great restaurant that is usually my experience. I would like to personally thank the staff at the Dandelion for over exceeding my expectations.
Thank you for owning the mistake of the server from the last experience without hesitation. Thank you for making this time around the best and thank you for making sure we were serviced well which is of your reputation. I will definitely be back to experience The Dandelion. If you ever get a chance and you want to try food inspired by the British Pub you must try the Dandelion. The upscale pub offers everything from fish and chips, high tea, Risotto, burgers, and to the traditional roast.
