I was invited to a staycation to view Daddy O Restaurant and Hotel in collaboration with Fearless Restaurants. I wasn’t disappointed. The first time back in Long Beach New Jersey since 2016. It’s been quite a long time but I promise after this staycation I won’t allow that much time before my next visit. Daddy O is a Restaurant and hotel combination with a boutique hotel feel. Although smaller than larger hotels, it provides a powerful punch when it comes to rest, restoration, food and vibes.
Daddy O the Perfection Location
Daddy O is located at 4401 Long Beach Blvd. The fact that Daddy O has a restaurant, Rum bar, restaurant and rooftop bar is all that one could need. It’s also less than 2 minutes from the beach. All you have to do is walk out the front door, turn right and the beach is easily accessible. In past beach staycations and me days, I wrote about forgetting beach necessities like chair or umbrella. As a guest of Daddy O they provide all of that including bicycles to help you explore. So you could explore outside of the hotel or have all of your amenities met.
Views at Daddy O
I am extremely impartial to the fact that red is my favorite color. You don’t need the red color in a hotel to make it nice. However it’s something about being surrounded by your favorites that make a difference. For me whenever I am taking a staycation I look to have all that I could need at the hotel. Rarely do I want to leave. I do a lot of running around in my life. Being able to not cook for others, drink good drinks, and relax is high on my list. I am not looking for things like pools or workout facilities. Staycations for me are different than vacations.
Vacations is where I rest but I also am adventurous. Staycations are exclusively for rest. You can use Daddy O for both. However I was able to enjoy at the beach and that is more than enough for me. The rooms are beautiful. They are the perfect size to where you don’t feel closed. Its a cute snug feeling. What was the first thing I did after checking in? Unpacked and took a 3 hour nap. The beds felt like Heaven. It wasn’t just from being tired. It was about an space that accounts for my rest.
Daddy O and Upgrades
There are plenty of upgrades. Daddy O is all about making their hotels modern but keeping the boutique hotel updated. I love that they have their ears to the ground on what would make staying at Daddy O better. If you have ever visited a beach hotel/resort there are rules for using their restaurants and bars. You must be out of your beach/swimsuit. At Daddy O even if you are not staying at the hotel they have a beach entrance so that you can come and grab a bite or drinks without having to change out of your clothing.
Cocktail Class
Myself and other Bloggers enjoyed a Cocktail Class. Sommayer Michele helped welcome us with an amazing Cocktail class. We learned that it’s okay to experiment with cocktail combinations for our Mojitos. Daddy O has an extensive Rum collection. I enjoyed Coconut Rum with strawberry and agave topped with sparkling water. It was delicious. We also learned about Sparkling Wine. Wine is one of my favorites to drink. We learned the proper way to open a bottle. There is a way that opening it can cause harm that I hadn’t thought about.
Daddy O and Appetizers
We indulged on some amazing appetizers during the cocktail class before our indoor dining. From short rib gnocchi, brussel sprout flatbread, boneless wings and more. Everything came up hot and delicious. The appetizers could really be a meal on its own. They serving size is plentiful. I like that because after a day being at the beach you may not want to eat super heavy. There menu has something for all.
Dining inside Daddy O
To be honest if we would have just had the appetizers and drinks, I would have been good with just that. However, they had us dine inside and their restaurant is massive. We started walking and was impressed with how far back the walk really was. There is more than enough space to host an event or just simply enjoy the dining options. For our dinner I started off with the butternut squash soup. It was perfection. Hot and super creamy. I elected to try the Raspberry Drop. It was hands down delicious from first sip to the last. My main course was the Black Bean Falafel with French fries. The best part of that meal was the cucumber tzatziki salad. It’s a flavor I can’t even put into words.
So if you thought this was the end…It’s not. Stand by for Part 2!
