If you are looking for something fun and different to do with friends, Cocktail Culture Co. is your one stop cocktail making class. I was invited by my friend Danielle or Elle of Siponwhat and I am so glad I went. If you love drinking cocktails this is the class to be. You get to learn the basics of being a mixologist and more.
Class and its Energy
If you think they are going to just simply talk to you about drinks and that’s it you are sadly mistaken. You are given all of the tools that you need to make your perfect drink. They also are playing music, there are at least 3 other bartenders there helping you along the way. The energy is high. The laughter and smiles happen as soon as you enter the building. Be prepared to wash your hands and have joy in because it’s not the drinks that’s keeping you happy- its the atmosphere.
Mixologist and Preference
I thought Cocktail Culture Co. would have had drinks already designated. Although you get 3 drinks to make, each of them are personalized by you. This means you are the true mixologist. You have the ability to choose your type, fruit, and more. By the way we went to the Fruity Cocktail class. I love a cocktail that is fruity but not to sweet and not too sour. They helped me curate my perfect Pineapple, Strawberry, and Blood Orange Margarita. This drink was absolutely delicious now I used half tequila and half mezcal and it was a hit in my book.
Blackberry Smash
Now any Smash can be used with the fruit of your choice, I love a good blackberry one and I wanted to try. We used real mint leaves in the beginning. I learned that smash your mint leaves lights helps to keep it from being in pieces. I usually taste that in a Smash or a Mojito. If a Mojito isn’t made properly no matter how much alcohol is in it I am usually turned off. This however wasn’t the issue. There isn’t much difference between the Smash and Mojito. So I made mine to have elements of both.
Orange Cinnamon Old Fashioned
Old Fashioned is a classic drink. This is for those who love Bourbons or whiskeys. Its great tasting and can simply be poured over ice. So if this is your thing we have a recipe for you.
Culture Cocktail for Occasions
So as you can see you can enjoy making the drinks while having a professional guide you. You are still the master of your choice. The class lasts about 2 hours. In those 2 hours you are making and drinking these drinks. Remember the camera gets the first dib. After that enjoy your time. Bring a group and make some memories. This is ideal for those who are celebrating special occasions or just want to do something different in the city.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your besties or celebrate something big, but get to the Cocktail Culture Co. You will love it and be able to practice with your friends and show off a little skills at the same time. It made me want to add a few things to my home bar. Follow them on Instagram as well so you can see some of their things in action. Thanks Elle and Cocktail Culture Co. for an incredible evening. As always with the consumption of alcohol don’t drink and drive. Drink Responsibly.
