Here is the real last minute Christmas list that you need. Remember that with all the buying and getting that the holidays can be super stressful. So, when you think that you need to add more to the list this list is here to help take some things off the list and add calm to your world.
Do what you can this Holiday
Money will be an issue every year. Trying to do what you can be super hard. So, take the time to take a step back and do what you can. This is a lesson that can be applied to beyond Christmas. However, during the holiday, we stretch to the max and it can be overwhelming. So, do what you can and begin to add peace into your world.
Here’s another one for those who don’t give gifts many say things like I don’t have to worry about all of this. Where you may not shop during the holidays is admirable keep in mind there are other areas of your world you can apply the do what you can mentality. Are you overstepping in your relationships?
You know that treating those you are in relationships as if they are your child. Do you do more than you need to do when it comes to overindulgence? Either way apply the do what you can where it applies. The holidays are hard for everyone even those who don’t shop or exchange gifts.
Add Breaks
This is important. Children all around the world will soon be on a break. My kids are off for almost 3 weeks. It’s a wonderful time for them. I encourage them to enjoy it. Play with their holiday gifts, sleep in, and simply not having a full-on schedule. Same goes for adults. If you are like many of us that can’t take plentiful time off during the holidays, make sure that you rest too. Come off work and don’t go into doing it all. For instance, I took stock on what events I am going to during the holiday break. January I am shifting my content too.
So, for the PR that have events that start a 5pm I will be deciding if I will be attending. The time I take to show up to these events have been great. Sometimes if not all the time they are super time consuming. In addition to the consumption of time I have been seeing the shift of how PRs move. They give exclusivity to their favorites. Nothing wrong with that. However, the parking, rushing through traffic for you to get there and realize that you are just a filler for content to boost is not what I am participating in. If it isn’t an event that I really want to go to I will not be going.
Do a Holiday Movie Marathon
Yes, I did this while I was sick. I didn’t focus on the blog or content as much. My content can now run itself. With that newfound joy I enjoyed watching Christmas and holiday movies. Take the time to sit and enjoy snacks. Nothing is better than that sometimes. This is coming from someone who watches extraordinarily little television as is. Take your time back-reclaim your time.
Be a Foodie
I enjoyed a newer BYOB Italian restaurant with my friends. No gifts, good food and joy. We dined for a few hours talking, affirming one another. If going out isn’t your thing, no worries. Take the time to learn a new dish. You got a little time. For some people cooking feels therapeutic. Often, I hear that people struggle because they do not have enough time to cook.
What’s stopping you and you are on a break? Make a dish. Learn a new recipe. Enjoy good food. Looking for a new restaurant and you are localish try Carina Sorella. Its located in Bryn Mawr and I promise you the food is a 10/10.
So, there are a thousand and one things you could be doing. Some include:
• Sleeping in/resting
• Baking
• Meet up with friends
• Reading books
• Listening to a podcast-I suggest Conversations with Toi
• Date Night
• Solo date
Enjoy your time and relax a little. What can’t be done won’t be done. I believe in you. Take your rest.
