So not bad for a Friday night but we decided to go to the Barnes and Nobles story time of the Polar Express reading by Chris Van Allsburg for the 30th celebration!! The reading included hot chocolate and cookies and Christmas carols. It was an amazing time.
Polar Express and Matching Pajamas
The kids enjoyed wearing their pajamas outside the house!!! I enjoyed the fact that there’s no place I would love to be than in my favorite store of Barnes and Nobles.
We ended our night with you guessed it purchasing books! Getting out with the kids is always a great idea. Being around other parents is always fun. From seeing other moms who understand the balance of children around the holidays is such a relief. Mom groups are necessary to help take the edge off of everything.
Me Time
I enjoyed having that mental break that we as moms need. Enjoyed a hot chocolate away from the kids as they run around and played with other children. I remember the days that I had no groups to interact with. Those times were rough. Not feeling as if I belonged was hurtful. The transitions times of being a Stay at home mom isn’t for everyone. So if your life brings you to the stay at home mom, make sure you get a support system in place. Take time out for you. Be clear on what you need.
Holiday Fun
I do holiday activities as I channel my own childhood through the kids. That is how we find all of these activities to enjoy. The kid inside of me is having a ball and that what my children need. I am a firm believer that I am who I am because I was gifted the children that I have and needed.
Take some time to Google free events in your area especially around the holidays. You will be amazed of the fun you can have!!
