Can you believe my first time in Candytopia since it opened in Philadelphia was this week? It’s true however, Candytopia is back open and it gets my stamp of approval. Candytopia is the interactive candy immersion that you most definitely need in your life. You simply can’t help to be a big kid in a candy store.
So Many Rooms to Enjoy
One of the things that I enjoyed as I attended the Media night was that there are so many rooms to really indulge in. From the Jungle room, to the larger than life marshmallow pit, there is something for everyone. I went to the private taping for Fox 29 the next day following media night with my family and saw things I didn’t see the night before. From the smells of sweet candy, the statues that are made of candy its an explosion that ignites every senses. I also love all of the culture of Philadelphia as well. You have the replica of the Rocky statue to the picture of Will Smith all made from candy.
Safety Protocols
They are open but not at full capacity with their timing. Tickets are timed to control how many people are there. You get a chance to experience the essence of Candytopia without feeling overwhelmed. Candytopia is located inside of the Fashion District. There are signs throughout asking you to where your mask as its suggested. Locally and statewide for now (as of Thursday July 22) masks are recommended for any person who is not vaccinated. It is not being enforced for those who are vaccinated.
Staff at Candytopia will greet you with a mask. I had mine on me because although I am vaccinated, I am cautious. There is hand sanitizer in every room. It’s highly recommend that you use it when you exit each room. I didn’t feel unsafe at all. My children were safe. I will say though we did have a more private experience when my husband and children came than what anyone else would have-so do what’s right for you and your family. Be kind to others around you and especially to the staff.
Best Staff Experience
I attend a lot of these immersive fun places for the blog as well as with my family. The staff at Candytopia was hands down amazing. I had no issues. If anything I would say that the staff went out of their way to make sure that everyone had a great time. The media night I usually take a plus one but I elected not to this time. The staff on their own took all of the pictures that were with the rooms and ones that weren’t. They also kept asking everyone what they need. The next day they made each child present feel amazing. So a special shout to all of the staff of Candytopia.
Favorite Experience
My favorite experience has to be the confetti room. Literally every room could have been my favorite, the confetti room just made my whole childhood come alive. I loved the confetti. If you elect to go into that room expect your hair and clothing to be filled with confetti. They did have an air blower as well. I still went home with confetti all through my undergarments. I call that a souvenir because as I was vacuuming my carpets I just kept smiling. A gentle reminder of a time well spent. Be sure to check out my Reel of the confetti explosion on Instagram.
Sweet Tooth Unmatched
Candytopia didn’t get their name from no where. There is a chance to get candy in every room you go into. Also at the end you can fill up candy at the end or shop in their gift shop. For media night we were met with a bag that already had candy. So without telling my kids that they were going the next day I was already given cool mom points. The next day as we wet back each child left with more than enough candy that if I didn’t buy them anything until Halloween, they would be good. So expect candy dreams to be made. Do NOT lick or pick at any of the candy statutes.
Candytopia is a great place to take your family, met a friend who doesn’t mind being a big kid with you, a date night, or just because you wanted to beat the heat. The air conditioned facility will be the best place to be on a rainy day too. Go just because, but do go! I promise there will be an immediate smile on your face. Thank you to Candytopia, Fashion District, Aversa PR, and Fox 29!
