What to Expect at Candle Light Concerts
You will definitely need your ticket before you go. There are many things that I have suggested in the past that you might be able to get away with getting tickets at the door. This is not one of them. No ticket means no entry. There are no selling of tickets at the door. Your ticket and location matters. Your ticket gets you a seat in a location inside the venue. It doesn’t guarantee you a specific seat.
Doors open at least 45 minutes before it starts. I highly suggest that you get there early. Now I am not going to lie, we were able to get a front seat. You have to ask yourself what you want to be able to see. For me it was important to get a people free seating so front worked. You may not one a on face seat and want to see the above scenery as those pictures and videos would breathless as well.
You can’t be late. They start as close to on time as possible. If you are running late you run the risk of not being seated and that is with no refund. So plan your night accordingly. Although we were about 20 minutes from the venue we left at the top of the hour. We still got there about a half an hour before.
Candle Light Concerts and Music
You will know what music because when you get your ticket you are going to be pick the music and the date that fits with you. For us we saw the Neo Soul and Hip Hop and we have zero regrets. It was absolutely phenomenal. The ambiance of the candles and the music choices like Sade, Solange, Her, and more illuminated our ears and sights to the best of an orchestra concert I have ever attended.
Keep in mind songs like Erykah Badu’s Call on Tyrone with no drum but hit every note was mesmerizing to see and hear. We were entertained from the time we got there until we let. The concert is only an hour and we did get an encore song of Beyonce’s Cuff it. Yes I am full aware that Cuff It is not Neo Soul but it was encore song. One of the strings actually went to her high school.
Is it Worth the Hype?
Absolutely. I had seen these concerts online many times and wanted to attend. It wasn’t even on my list to try to collaborate. However, this was a collaboration that definitely is one of my top for the year. Would I go and pay for a ticket? Hands down. It is worth it to add it in the date night budget. If you are like me who is always on the hunt on ways to elevate date night experiences this is it. You get to choose your concerts. I highly suggest you go on a night that you know the music will make you go in your memories of what is good in the world. For instance I wanted to book for Beyonce night. It was sold out. Even though I couldn’t’ go that night I ended up getting Beyonce thrown into it.
The performers love what they do. As soon as they are on the stage you will them beam with pride. They are also extremely talented. These concerts are performed all over in various states and cities. So do not think this concert is only to Philadelphia because it is not.
Pro Tip:
- Book your concert as soon as possible
- Consider your seating-get there early
- Make it a night with dinner before after
- Plan to enjoy
- Treat yourself to an experience-you don’t have to be coupled to go
Recording and Photos
They will remind you while there but please turn off your flash and lower your screen’s lighting. In addition no pictures or video recording can happen until they announce it is their final song. Do not do what we saw people do which is to go opposite of what they have asked. The flash is not worth it either. It takes away from everyone around you and their experience. It also is not helping the performers either.
