Brooklyn Dumplings located in Philadelphia is your go to for all things dumplings, bowls and more. I was invited to attend the grand opening and sadly I was too sick to go. Talk about favor I was able to reschedule and go on my own time and I am glad that I did. Brooklyn Dumplings had a little something for everyone.
Before you Go to Brooklyn Dumplings
It is located on 308 South Street. There are two new locations coming to 3400 Lancaster Avenue, and 1504 Sansom Street. Make sure that you pay attention to the announcements. This location is easy to find and use. Here are the deets. You order your food on the app or the kiosk. You can pay for it with all forms of electronic payments including Venmo. The vibe is casual with dining available on the second floor. You can order your food and take out as well. They are open late until 2am on Thursdays-Saturday. When your food is done and ready you will be texted, and you can select to open the doors for the food to be opened and sent to you. The food is hot as it waits you to pick it up.
What would I recommend Brooklyn Dumplings For
This is a great casual date spot. If this is your second or subsequent date with a new love interest this would be different if the person likes dumplings. Also, for established couples this would work well too. I would recommend this for kids too. There are many things they would like the mac and cheese dumpling. The prices are not expensive at all. So, you are getting great food and good prices that will guarantee to fill you up. This would be perfect for late night bites too. If you are doing a meet up with friends before a night on the town I would suggest here. There is no alcohol served. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming.
Specialty Dumplings
They come in 3 or 9 pieces. You can get Koran BBQ, Kung Pao Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Philly Cheesesteak, Reuben, Bacon Cheeseburger and GF Pork and Cabbage. They are what they sound as they are. Delicious finger food to enjoy. Let me be clear they do not miss. The food is hot, cooked well, and well-seasoned. The only issue is when you finish them and there are no more to enjoy. Outside of that you will like them no matter what flavor you get.
Potstickers in Broth
This is a game changer. If I am honest, I ate all of this and had little room for much else. The leftovers hit even better the next day. The flavors are chicken teriyaki, vegetable, fire pork, and pork and napa cabbage. You can add grilled chicken or extra potstickers to your order. This was so good and such a great comfort food. We went the day that it snowed. It was so good. Between the heat and the heat of the food I felt cozy. Immediately wanted to go to sleep afterwards.
Chop Chop Bowls
There are many flavors to choose from. You choose your protein: crispy chicken, grilled chicken, crispy shrimp, or plant-based chicken. The flavors are Kung Pao, sweet and sour, and famous peanut sauce. I would strongly suggest if there were someone with a peanut allergy to order your food separately.
However, the flavors in the bowls are so good. In addition, they jam pack the bowls. I had my plant-based chicken bowl with sweet and sour and I intended to only eat half of the bowl and ate the whole thing with no shame.
Crispy Bites and Smashed Burgers
I didn’t try either one of these. However, if they are made with the same tenacity as the other foods, you are in for a treat. The Crispy Bites come in chicken, shrimp, and plant based with the flavors of Kung Pao, sweet and sour, and famous peanut sauce. The smashed burger comes in classic, teriyaki, and King Pao.
Leave Room for Desserts at Brooklyn
I had the smashed apple pie dumplings. Immediately it was a choice I do not regret. Its like eating an apple pie. The combination of hot and cold is a game changer. The other flavors are Brownie and PB&J.
Overall, this is a 10/10. The customer service was A1. You will enjoy the food. With more locations this franchise is taking dumplings to another level and doing it well. Thank you to Brooklyn Dumplings and Philly PR Girl for having me. Make sure you take a look at them and all of the recent eateries.
