Brick & Brew is an amazing American Pub that has several locations. I went to the Havertown location and was incredibly impressed. From the drinks both mocktail and regular cocktails, food, and desserts are pleasantly delicious So how do they stand for ambiance, customer service, food, and more?
Customer Service at Brick & Brew
I am a stickler on good customer service. Even though there are several locations I was rsvp for the Havertown location. Guess who went to the one in Media? That’s right, I did. Also, for those using their phones, do not use Google Maps to find the Media location. For some reason entering the address manually took us to the wrong location of another Brewery close by. Once at the Media location the staff was hands down nice, called over to the other location in Havertown to inform them that we were on our way. The location was about 20 minutes from one another.
From size I would recommend going to the Havertown location over the Media one even though the Media one is closer to my home. The staff once at Havertown was glowing with enthusiasm which I appreciated after being frazzled about going to the wrong location. We were in excellent hands as the manager, Shelly and staff seated us.
Drink Selections
The drink selections at Brick & Brew are overwhelming in a fantastic way. From beer, tequila, and whiskey flights they also have great selections of mocktails, cocktails, and wine. I was impressed. I personally tried the mocktail called Butterfly Kiss. It was purple, delicious, and refreshing. I like that restaurants are making mocktails to fit every lifestyle choice. Whether you donot drink, are pregnant, decreasing your alcohol intake for health and wellness reasons these drinks are beautifully aesthetic and welcoming.
If you do like cocktails, I tried the Pineapple Margaritas. This drink was impressive. First, once it was served it was clear. I immediately thought that there was more alcohol and less margarita mixed. I found out that they infuse the pineapple in a jar and that is why it was clear. It was easily the best pineapple margarita I have had in a long time. I highly recommend that if you like margaritas especially pineapple, this will be your new favorite.
Appetizers at Brick & Brew
Brick & Brew are serving appetizers that are delicious and have thought in presentation. Some restaurants are more concerned with taste and throw the food on a plate. Sometimes that works but when a restaurant has tasty food that is served esthetically pleasing to the eye, they get an A+ for it. I get that presentation isn’t the only thing that matters. The taste should be King. However, for a Foodie I also want the food to be inviting.
The Deviled Eggs made with shrimp is packed with flavor. The shrimp was clean and well-seasoned. The presentation was inviting. The shrimp also didn’t just appear to be slapped up top of a bland deviled egg either. Together this was a marriage of flavor I didn’t realize was needed. The crab did was delicious and sizzling hot. I didn’t taste an overwhelming amount of crab because it also had artichoke hearts, spinach, and cheese but it was a great blend of taste that meshed well.
Main Attractions
Of course, if you aren’t the type that came for appetizers and drinks and are hungry, I promise you won’t leave hungry. I had the Shrimp Po’ Boy Sliders. They were heavenly. I must admit I was excited to try it and review these hard. I have had Shrimp Po’ Boy sliders before and they lacked flavor which is always annoying. Not at Brick and Brew, they were outstanding. Also, Foodie approved due to presentation. They weren’t sloppy or thrown together. You will appreciate the care given on them. I also like to people watch while I eat. Restaurants should be always aware that people like myself look around at other plates given to other patrons.
As I looked around I saw that not only our food was prepared well; I noticed the same level of excellence was being given. I am happy to report that all meals were plated well.
Leave Room for Dessert
Donuts anyone? I had the warmest donut holes wrapped in cinnamon and sugar and served with the best raspberry chocolate syrup I have had in a long time. It was warm, gooey, and well made. The syrup itself was divine. Honestly, I felt weird, but I should have asked for some extras to take home to eat with other things. I plan to reheat tonight and enjoy with a glass of wine. The Charlie’s Cookie which is a skilled baked cooked served with Vanilla ice-cream, hazelnut, and Caraway Sea salt is my next thing to try. My foodie friend, Ashely of Ash_defoodie on Instagram said it was good but had just a little more salt that she had anticipated. So, if salt intake is an issue ask them to go light on it.
Rooftop Me Always
If you love a good rooftop vibe this location, has you covered. It rained the night we went so we couldn’t experience it. Only more reason to return. In addition to the fact that the rooftop is inviting I love that it has its own bar to service you.
Breakdown on Brick & Brew
If you are looking for an elevated casual date night this is your spot. It has the right number of decorative features to impress a first date to couples needing a break. The drinks and food have something for everyone, and you will impress your loved one with a night on the town without all the fuss.
Kid approved menus are available. I checked out the kid’s menu because as a mom myself let’s face it, kids are in tow. Since my older kids eat off the adult menu my littlest one would love the selections available.
Having a girls/guy’s night out? You are well cared for. Whether you need a semiprivate space to laugh and catch up or use the rooftop vibes this will make for a great night of laughter and fun.
It’s exceedingly rare to find a spot that can accommodate life with good food and drink, but Brick & Brew has it all. I felt welcomed and the atmosphere had beautiful sea of people from all walks of life. The staff including our waiter, Kevin and manager Shelly were amazing. I didn’t encounter one sour employee. This speaks volumes because I interviewed many when management was around, and I got the same-everyone enjoyed working there. One thing about people, everyone ain’t telling the same lie. It’s hard to find servers and works post pandemic that enjoy what they do in the restaurant industry. Thank you Brick & Brew for having Ashley and myself. I will be back soon with the family.
