I have been the type that planned plenty of parties only to have a friend or cousin bring someone who isn’t accounted for. Always have some extra place settings set aside. It’s not a wedding. Deal with the adult later about respecting your space but never allow a child to not be included over adult issues. Kids should all be made to feel loved and appreciated for celebrating the child of honor.
Find Ways to Make Clean up Fun
I’m all about recycling. However for parties I buy whatever can be thrown or recycled. I want the clean up to be easier than the setup! Children are going to be having all the fun. Once the party is over, all you’re gonna want to do clean up and relax! So find a place in the house to have your party that can be cleaned without issue. For me my newly renovated basement is the best spot. It can be mopped easily and clean up is essentially the best!
Birthday Cake or Cupcakes
I have two kids who love cake and one that will only eat cupcakes. So I buy according to what is necessary for the child. If I have a party goer who has any allergies I make sure to provide an alternative. Some people prefer a sugar free option so I make sure I provide that too. One of the issues I have as an adult is going places and being the only vegan and no options available. I would hate to have a child at a party and not have the option available. Communicate with your guests to be sure that doesn’t happen! This is all about being an amazing host.
Birthday Party Bags
Partyville USA has all birthday bags including in the kit. This means you get to decide what to add in them. To be honest I look for bulk type toys that keep with the theme and that are gender neutral. This way all of the kids don’t have to have certain toys for girls and some for boys. Be clear in make sure you know what guests are attending. Also sweets are necessary so if you do eliminate things that have peanuts in them. This is now a rule of thumb. Kids have a lot of allergies again knowing what kids have what is key. To eliminate issues I just remove an allergy so that the child with the allergy isn’t singled out.
