Get your tickets. You can’t be on the premises without it. In addition, try to get there as early as possible. Around noon and beyond is where you will see the biggest crowds come together. This is a place for all. I would highly suggest wearing comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking. If there is someone who needs wheelchair or scooter  accommodations, you must bring that with you as I didn’t see it there while on the premises. You can bring in your own food as they do not have a café on the premises. Please dispose of your trash appropriately.

Expect to learn about the Biddle Family

The Biddle family has a long-standing history in the English colonies. You can see the influence in finance, politics, law, military and so much more. Their legacy is strong and when Nicholas Biddle moved to Andalusia it was preserved to showcase the significance in architect and in the way that the upkeep of the gardens and grounds too.

What to do while at Andalusia House and Gardens

Take a guided tour of the house and see the artifacts. As always make sure that you do not touch anything. Simply enjoy and ask as many questions that you can possibly to understand the story as it unfolds. In addition, take a self-guided walking tour of the walking trail, wooded trail, and river trail. I did them all and you can do them in no time but slow down and enjoy it. The trails are one to behold.

The Garden Trails

There is must history to take in. In addition, learn about the grounds and flowers and trees that are present. The garden trails are mapped to help you navigate while there. So many people take their time to photograph and honestly, it’s one of the most favorite parts.

The Wooded Trails

It is how it sounds. Although it’s not as visually stimulating as the Garden trail, I enjoyed it the most. My daughter and I sat and talked and spent a lot of time in this location. We loved it.

The River Trail

There is so much to see. We enjoyed watching the clouds, winds, as well as the actual river. There were two boats on it while we were outside. I would highly suggest that you bring the following with you:

  • Blanket for picnics
  • Light jacket
  • Snacks or food
  • Back up charger
  • Water
  • Bug spray
  • Small first aid kit
  • Epipen if you’re allergic to bees (there are plenty on site)
  • Sunscreen
  • Wipes
  • Hand sanitizer

Looking for food or things to do in the area?

I would suggest you try Rayaki Ramen which is about 6 minutes from the location. This is an anime inspired ramen. The food is good, but the customer service is even better. Also, if you like to shop the Philadelphia Mills is in the same area. We made a full day of it and enjoyed our time. Thank you to Andalusia House and Gardens for having me.
