Diggerland USA is located in West Berlin, New Jersey. It is an oasis of fun and sun with their amusement park and waterpark combination. It has everything you can need in one spot. So what is your need to know, tips, and most importantly is it worth the trip.
Before you Go to Diggerland USA
If you live in the Philadelphia area it is about 30 or so minutes away with traffic. It’s a fairly easy drive as well as a really easy route to get there. Buy your tickets online. It will save you some money. However here are a few key pointers to keep in mind. Even if you purchased your tickets online you will still have to get in line to get the tickets verified as well as get a wristband. We went on a Saturday and it was busy. The lines are long. Pack patience. You also much have identification along with the original credit card used to purchase the tickets. You will also have to have your bag checked prior to going on. Once you have your wristband you can re-enter as many times as you need to as long as you have your wristband on.
If you get a red wristband as a non rider is means a non rider. I saw people attempting to save money for a non rider but trying to ride rides. It won’t happen. As soon as the attendants saw the wristband they did their job and stopped it. So don’t attempt to be cheap or get over. Remember at Diggerland USA you are getting two parks in one.
Parking
It is free but remember on high busy days you may have to park in the overflow parking lot. This was our second or third visit and we had to park in the overflow parking lot. It was fine. As the evening went on I moved the car from the overflow parking lot without issue.
There is no outside food or drinks. However I will say the food is fairly priced. I spent about 150 total for 5 people and that included desserts. So I found the food for an amusement park to be pretty well priced and definitely beating out several amusement parks I have been to this summer.
Water Park Vibes
This park has all that you need from the wave pool called Claw Hammer Cove. If you like wave pools this is the wave pools of all wave pools. The current in this wave pools made all other wave pools that I have been to this season look and feel like a baby pool. The waves are real. The kids and I enjoyed it. There are plenty of water rides that fit all ages. Make sure that you pay attention to your surroundings. There are plenty of life jackets for kids. Use the one that its well.
Diggerland USA Construction Vibes
The rides take you on an adventure to dig your way through it all. From the tractor trailer type rides to zip lining you will find an adventure for all ages. Please pay attention that some rides for smaller kid may not be suitable for all ages. Use the height gage to determine. I saw so many ignore this and watched as kids who thought they were able to ride on something not be able to. As you can imagine the tantrums ensued. Parents, let’s do a great job in preparing kids for situations like this.
Food and Drinks at Diggerland USA
The food again I have to admit wasn’t expensive. I compare that to what an average meal is at a fast food restaurants and Diggerland is right to it or a little under. The portions are big and the food is good. In our party we had combinations of Caesar salads, chicken Caesar salad, chicken tenders and fries, and mac and cheese. All of these options are kid approved. They have an assortment of icee, sodas, and juices. I highly recommend their lemonade. It is refreshing.
Is is worth it?!
For the price of two parks in one, being big enough to entertain but not overwhelming big to keep a group of kids occupied, and more it is worth it. Not to mention the water park is open daily at 10am and the amusement park at noon and closes at 6pm it gives you just enough time to get in and out without incident. I have 3 kids ages 14, 11, and 9 and there was something for all of them as we have been before. In addition, I took my nieces and we had a blast. Make your way to Diggerland USA for all of the fun.
