Good Sunday morning! It’s been a week. A week full of ups and downs, disappointments, and fear. Now that we have a President elected doesn’t mean that life has picked up moved on. There’s work to do!
Working Together
There’s work to be done when we all come together and work with each other. I think the worst part of all of this has been the lack of humanity shown. There’s no reason we as a nation should be walking around like it’s the 1950’s. We all should be respected instead we had divisiveness, name calling, and hatred running amongst us. The power to change it is inside of us. We have the power to do better.
Make a Plan
What is your personal plan to move forward for the better? For me it’s continuing to not argue or fight people over the internet. That has been my personal pledge and I’ve kept it up. I don’t think that arguing with others will make them change their whole mindset. Strangers love to stir the pot.
Sometimes people agree with you but just for the sake of stirring the pot, they do. I don’t think it supports my healthy mindset to engage and argue. Does that mean that I don’t have my points? I do! We all do. We all have in our kind what we believe in and what we choose to engage with. You don’t have to stick it to others.
Be Vigilant
Not everyone is rejoicing right now. A large part of America isn’t to be honest. With that being said I like to believe that many won’t do any type of harm. However I like to be more of a realist. With that being said, I air on caution. So be vigilant about where you are and whom you are around. I’ve seen some things already take place these last couple of days. I’m not suggesting you live in fear, but be smart. You should always be aware of your surroundings.
Be Who You Post To Be
I’ve said this many times but when people meet me they meet me as I am online and offline. I don’t offer people a different representative. I think that maybe because I’m almost 40 I don’t live in the mindset of people pleasing. In my 20s I used to be a walking and talking chameleon. I would adjust like the wind to whatever group of people I was around. It took me learning about myself to learn to make sure that I stand in who I am. Change is good but changing to fit others isn’t. Be you.
Continue to Do Good: Sunday Word
The world is full of evil. It really is. So do good. No matter what people believe in you are responsible for what you do in this life. Doing good is always a great thing. This season there’s a lot of hurt or pain, be the good that someone may need. For instance I knew this Muslim man who of course for obvious reasons didn’t celebrate Christmas. He however heard about a single mom who couldn’t give her children the Christmas she wanted.
That man did good even though gift giving wasn’t in his personal beliefs. He choose to do good for her so she would know and see good in others. They didn’t have to agree to show care between the two of them. I for one still don’t care for that man but I respected what he did. See how that works?
Life is hard as it is! Anxiety is at an all time high. We are almost done with the year and in full holiday mode. So I need us to find a way to move towards the future in peace. Am I suggesting it will be easy? Nope! That would be a lie. It’s a decision for us to make daily in how we move with one another. Some rhetoric that has been spewed is damaging and hurtful. I get not being able to combat that with love like a movie and thinking it will be better. However we can take care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Let Grown Folks Be Grown
One thing I learned growing up is grown folks gon be grown! They are going to do what they do. I won’t allow those people to affect the many others who aren’t like that! Listen to my podcast this week too! Trust me I talk about the levels of anxiety!
Happy Sunday! Let’s do better!
