Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

The 2024 Diner en Blanc was one for the books. This year it was held at Love Park. It has been long requested to be at this location. It was befitting for all the joys that Philadelphia brings and is. Of course, it was met with some push backs but as someone who was there, here is what actually took place.

Diner en Blanc Happiness

From the time I entered on the scene and until I left, I saw nothing but a sea of white and smiles. People were sharing food and drinks with those they sat with and more. Even as I was going through the crowds taking photos many patrons were offering me food and such. I think it could have been the press pass but the hospitality that was shown is something that happens every single time. Very few people who were there for the event didn’t comply to the asked color of scheme of white. The few people I saw that didn’t meet it were those who were sent passing by who wanted to get photos and videos of what was happening in real time.

What is the purpose of Diner en Blanc?

It is dinner in white and started as a worldwide event to encourage people to have a meal in a public space. Since then, each state or city or even other countries that do it make it bigger and better yearly. Many people of whom don’t know the location of where the meal will take place are eager to dress up, bring their food, drinks, and utensils for this yearly event held in the summer months.

Entertainment at the Diner en Blanc

There were spectacular options available. From the ice sculptures of Ice Ice Philly, 76ers Stixers, Celebrations Paintings that provided an in-time painting, Great on Skates that danced the night away on their skates are a few of what we were able to see. It was a night of fun and movement. I loved how about after the sparklers they announced it was time to party. The city went up. No issues were observed, and the fun went well into the night.

Why I love attending?

One I hate FOMO. The other reason is that I get to meet up personally with many of my creator friends. We get to enjoy our time even though we know we are there to create what we see. It’s a fun night for all. The fashions, food, wine, and more are just the cherry on top. I had a back injury leading up to the event and I still was able to come after I got myself together and take it all in. If you have ever been to an all-white party, you know that if done right it takes your breath away especially at night with the lights and more.

Love Park as a Backdrop

There are many iconic places to go to while you visit Philadelphia. Love Park must be one of the most photographic places. Many people go there because City Hall is nearby and its in the heart of Center City. In addition, many people have even gotten married there too. I wasn’t as shocked that it was there especially with the rumblings that in times past it had gotten close but not quite there. My biggest concern was how all 5000 patrons would fit. They made it work and it was done well.

Should you attend?

In my opinion yes. Even if you go and decide that you are a once and done. The spirit of the night stays with you for a while. You really get a sense of some of the best in Philly. There are people from all walks of life represented. From City Hall to residents no one does Diner en Blanc quite like it. So go and make yourself known and enjoy your time. Thank you to the team of Philly PR Girl for having me. Job well done.
